After the huge 300% percent winter of 2023, by May there was still two feet of snow at lake level, 6,200' and still much more in the mountains around the lake. Over that winter nearly 20 feet fell at the lake alone. At the top of Squaw ski resort, nearly 9,200 feet high there was a record 96' feet of snow.
